NAHB Insight: Despite Challenges Single-Family Starts Grow

In July, single-family housing starts reported a slight gain despite economic uncertainty and construction challenges. According to a report from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Census Bureau while down on a year-to-date basis, July saw single-family starts increase by 2.8%.

While builders and buyers face affordability concerns alongside construction labor shortages, elevated costs and inefficient regulatory costs this can be a sign of the single family housing market pushing back.
