Companies announce their 2026 color of the year
The color of the year sets the tone for the upcoming year in residential design. Influential brands have announced their outlook for 2026.
Sherwin Williams unveiled their pick, Universal Khaki SW 6150. Described as a color of tailored elegance and timeless appeal the neutral was selected by their color experts. “Universal Khaki is the easygoing neutral that makes every room feel put together,” said Sue Wadden, Sherwin Williams Director of Color Marketing and Trend Insight Team Leader. ” Its warm, earthy tone works with natural finishes, crisp whites or bold pops of color…” Designers are eligible to receive complimentary large-sized samples in their exclusive designer kit.
Benjamin Moore announced their selection of color of the year and color trends 2026 palette. The color of the year, Silhouette AF-655 is a deep and grounding neutral. Described by Benjamin Moore as, “A distinctive color that weaves luxurious burnt umber with delicate notes of charcoal..” The accompanying color palette reflects a return to delicate and traditional styling. Valspar introduced their 2026 color of the year, Warm Eucalyptus 8004-28F. The earthy and calm shade invokes a calmer trend across design for the year. “Warm Eucalyptus is more than just a beautiful shade of green, it’s a reflection of the comfort we crave in our homes,” said Sue Kim, director of color marketing at Valspar. “Its warm undertones create a grounded, welcoming mood while drawing inspiration from nature and the familiarity of retro design. This is a color that encourages restoration and resilience.”
Across the board, the 2026 color outlook leans into the trend of more muted and natural colors.
