Dallas nearly tops list of U.S. cities with new homes being built

Dallas ranks second in the U.S. for new home construction in 2025, issuing over 9,800 building permits in the first two months of the year. The city also recorded 741 new home sales during this period. This robust activity underscores Dallas’s proactive approach to meeting housing demand amid ongoing population growth.

According to Cultural Map Dallas, “Newly built homes in Dallas were on the market for a median price of $450,000 in February, which was more expensive than all other Texas metros included in the top 10.”
