HUD Announces More Than $1.1 Billion for Affordable Housing
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced a historic $1.1 billion in Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG) funding for Native American Tribes, Alaska Native Villages, and Tribally Designated Housing Entities (TDHEs). This marks a 40% increase from the previous year and is the largest investment in Indian housing to date. The funding will support various affordable housing activities, including new construction, rehabilitation, and housing services, aiming to address the housing challenges faced by Tribal communities.
