NAHB Submits Extensive Deregulatory Recommendations to OMB

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) submitted a comprehensive set of deregulatory recommendations to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). This submission responds to the OMB’s Request for Information, aiming to identify federal regulations that are unnecessary, unlawful, or unduly burdensome. NAHB’s recommendations cover multiple federal agencies and address regulations that contribute to rising housing costs, with the association noting that such regulations account for nearly 25% of the cost of building a single-family home and over 40% for multifamily developments. The initiative aligns with President Trump’s focus on streamlining the federal government and eliminating unnecessary regulations.
